On February 2 and 3, 2023, 25 academics will meet in Augsburg for an intensive exchange on existing research priorities and cooperation opportunities in order to further strengthen peace and conflict research in Bavaria.
The participants of the workshop come from about ten disciplines and as many universities or research institutes from all over Bavaria. They are invited by the BMBF research network “Conflicts.Meanings.Transitions” to further promote networking in the research field. This first networking workshop is thematically concerned with bundling the conflict expertise available in Bavaria and discussing current contributions of interdisciplinary peace and conflict research that address current socio-political and conflict-theoretical challenges.
The workshop is part of the joint program “Conflicts.Meanings.Transitions” and is organized by the Lehrstuhl für Politikwissenschaft, Friedens- und Konfliktforschung at the University of Augsburg (Prof. Dr. Christoph Weller). It also ties in with the networking already started in October 2021 at an event in the Bavarian Parliament as part of the Bavarian Initiative for Peace and Conflict Research.
The detailed program and a short report on the workshop’s proceedings and experiences will be published in the workshop’s aftermath.
